Privacy and Data Usage Policy
Your personal information
When registering for the online community, you will need to create a user profile with a pseudonym of your choice, provide your email address and create a password.
You will be asked to choose a unique pseudonym that no one can use to post articles on the site. Other users of this site will know you only by this pseudonym. When you choose a pseudonym, we invite you to choose one that does not include any personal information that could identify you.
In the profile section, you can also provide other information, such as your autism diagnosis or that of your child or loved one, so that other users with similar experiences can identify with you more easily.
Personal information is confidential. Only moderators are authorized to use your emails to communicate with you. The platform uses your email to send you notifications if you request it. At no time will this information be made public, sold or communicated to third parties.
We believe it is important to assess the quality and reach of our programs. Your activity within the online community may be provided to external researchers for program evaluation. The results help us to raise the level of service offered to you and to people concerned with autism. Research results may be published in the form of articles. These do not identify individuals. Furthermore, the evaluation is not used for commercial purposes.
Autism Together Community reserves the right, if necessary, to transmit any information in order to satisfy applicable laws, regulations, legal proceedings or governmental requests. Autism Together Community also reserves the right to transmit information when it is deemed, in its sole discretion, that such disclosure could prevent imminent harm. You will be notified if applicable.

For example, we use the data available to us to investigate suspicious activity or breaches of our terms, or to detect if someone needs help. To do this, we have a risk identification protocol.
Communicate with you.
Doing research and innovating for the collective well-being.
This use is solely for research purposes to improve the site.
We collect content, communications and other information you provide when you use the platform, including when you create an account, when you create or share content, or when you communicate with or send messages to other people, in public groups as well as private groups. This may include information in or about content you provide, such as metadata, the location of a photo or the date a file was created. We collect information about the people, accounts, groups and groups you interact with on the platform and how you interact with them on the website, for example, whom you communicate with, on more or the groups you belong to. Respect for intellectual property rights
You confirm that you own the copyright to the material you post or upload to the online community site.
You agree not to use the online community to post any copyrighted or other intellectual property material not owned by you, without the express permission of the copyright owner or intellectual property law.
You may add links to internal or external sites within your postings, but agree to take responsibility for any link you add. We reserve the right to remove any link that we consider inappropriate.
When posting links to photos or uploading an avatar, you must ensure that you obtain permission from the owner of the photos and the people featured in them. Photos should in no way be used to identify you or your children.
When you share, post or import content protected by intellectual property rights on or in connection with the platform, you grant Autism Together Community a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, free and worldwide licence to host, use, distribute, modify, perform, copy, publicly perform or publicly display, translate and create derivative works of your content, in accordance with your privacy settings. This license ends when you decide to remove the content from the platform. You can delete your content individually or all at once by deleting your account. When you delete content, it is no longer visible to other users. However, it may persist elsewhere, in our systems, when:
- immediate deletion is not possible due to technical restrictions, in which case your content will be deleted within a maximum of 90 days from the time you delete it;
- your content has been used by third parties in accordance with the license and they have not deleted it, in which case this license continues to apply until the content is deleted; or
- where immediate deletion would limit our ability:
- to identify or investigate illegal activities or violations of our Terms of Use. For example, identify or investigate the misuse of our platform;
- to comply with a legal obligation, such as the preservation of evidence; or
- to comply with the request of a judicial or administrative authority, law enforcement authority or government agency;
in which case, the content will not be retained longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was retained. The exact duration varies on a case-by-case basis. In each of the cases mentioned above, the license lasts until the complete deletion of the content.
Indemnities, warranties, and exoneration of liability
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Autism Together Community and the researchers, moderators, research and healthcare professionals and other team members, from any liability, loss, claim or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees arising out of or related to your breach of the Terms of Use.
Autism Together Community strives to keep the online community safe and up-to-date and bug-free. However, you use it at your own risk.
Autism Together Community is not responsible for the actions, content, information or data of third parties, including its registered members who post material within the online community.
To the extent permitted by law, we also disclaim ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We cannot control or direct what people do or say and we are not responsible for their actions or conduct online or offline, or for any content they share, whether offensive, inappropriate, obscene, illegal or otherwise objectionable.
We are unable to predict when issues may arise with the platform. Accordingly, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law and we shall in no event be liable to you for lost profits, revenue, information or data, or incidental, special, consequential damages, exemplary, punitive or consequential arising out of or in connection with these terms or the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- To report a problem
To report a publication that is inadmissible or contrary to these Terms of Use, please contact us using the “Contact” link at the bottom of each page or by email at info@autisme-ensemble.org.
Autism Together Community may, at any time and in its sole discretion, cancel your right to use the online community if you breach these Terms of Use. If you are responsible for any breach of these conditions, you cannot rely on the fact that you have not read them.
Limit any user’s access to the Autism Together Community online community
In the event of a report about you, we will verify your account and may cancel it. This will only be restored once the problem has been resolved.
Remove any post that violates these rules without first contacting the author
As a last resort, we could ban you, temporarily or permanently, from accessing or registering with the online community, if it turns out that you refuse to comply with the Terms of Use, or if we consider that it is necessary to protect others or the integrity of the online community.
If we remove content you’ve shared because it violates our community standards, we’ll let you know and explain your options for requesting a review. You will not be able to make this request if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms or if it engages our legal liability or that of a third party, harms our user community, or compromises or alters the integrity or operation of our platform, or where there are technical restrictions or where we are prohibited from doing so for legal reasons.
